Dubai 11th October 2015 – Lootah Bio Fuel LLC (LBF) a fully owned subsidiary of the S.S. Lootah Group is one of the leading manufacturers in the waste-to-energy and alternative fuel industry in the UAE. Headquartered in Dubai LBF manufactures pure biodiesel (B100) from used cooking oil (UCO) and is cheaper than the retail price of regular diesel in UAE. LBF also offers credit facilities to clients making their products more customer-centric.
LBF is the only biodiesel manufacturer with three refueling stations across Dubai which are open 24 hours throughout the year and can also deliver fuel to their clients. In addition to increased savings and available refueling options Executive Director of LBF Mr. Yousif Saeed Lootah spoke on other advantages when using LBF bio friendly diesel “While we produce B100 pure biodiesel we can customize biodiesel blends according to our client’s requirements. For instance one of our popular blends B5 which is composed of 95% petroleum diesel and 5% biodiesel can be used with any diesel engine with absolutely no modification to the engine!” Internationally most of the Vehicle Manufacturers like Isuzu Volvo Mitsubishi Hino Peugeot Mercedes Ford Scania Man allow use of B5 without any Engine modification and this does not void the Vehicle Warranty conditions as is generally thought.
Further “The benefits to the environment are immense as biodiesel has less GHG or carbon dioxide emissions than petroleum diesel. Using biodiesel will not only increase savings it will also elevate the company’s CSR profile and environmental sustainability goals” Mr. Yousif Saeed Lootah elaborated.
As a result of its consistent quality the ASTM certified LBF biodiesel has shown it has a positive effect on mileage and lubricity of the engine. According to studies done by RTA vehicles running on biodiesel are said to attain more mileage. Biodiesel in general has more lubricity which helps in cleaning the engine and increasing its longevity.
Since 2010 when LBF was founded the company has grown steadily contracting with large organizations of which RTA; Al Futtaim Logistics; Emirates Transguard Group; Al Islami Foods;Almarai – UAE; Barakat Quality Plus;Seven Seas Shipchandlers; Dubai Driving Center; Romana Water; TNT; Abela& Co; and Imdaad are some of the more prominent LBF customers.
According to the State of Energy Report 2015 prepared in collaboration with the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence (DCCE) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) the Ministry of Energy aims to increase the clean energy market share to 24% of the overall energy market. At LBF the waste-to-energy concept supported by using UCO a waste product in the production of biodiesel results in clean energy.The pure biodiesel and the biodiesel blends are LBF’s initial contribution to the UAE’s sustainable and diversification of energy goals outlined in various policy documents such as UAE National Agenda 2021 and Dubai Integrated Energy Strategy 2030.
