Oman- MSM30 index rises most in six weeks

The MSM30 index posted on Sunday its highest daily gain since August 30 closing the session up 1.10 per cent at 5932.20 on the strong performance of the Financial sub-index.

Both daily turnover and volumes registered strong gains. The Financial gauge gained 1.86 per cent to close at 7261.06 followed by the Industrial index (+0.78 per cent) and the Services index (+0.73 per cent). The MSM Shariah Index closed up by 0.41 per cent at 913.03.

Market breadth continued to be clearly positive as 28 stocks posted gains against three laggards while 15 securities remained unchanged. Port Services Corporation (+8.86 per cent) Oman and Emirates Investment Holding (+6 per cent) and Oman United Insurance (+4.44 per cent) were among the top gainers whereas alizz islamic bank (-1.37 per cent) and United Finance (-0.74 per cent) were among the top laggards for the day.
