(MENAFN- Qatar News Agency) A delegation of the Middle East Quartet is to visit Palestinian territories, including the occupied West Bank, this week, in an attempt to calm the escalated wave of violence, Israeli radio reported.
According Al Ray, the visit aims to stop the recent developments in West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, since Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas threatened to wave all security and political agreements signed with Israel.
The radio also reported that the representative of Middle East Quartet intends to visit Israel and Palestinian territories in order to push up peace settlement process in the area.
It quoted UN sources as saying that the delegation will meet Israeli and Palestinian officials to discuss ways to resume peace talks.
