Iraqi army makes advances against Daesh in Ramadi


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The Iraqi army continued advancing towards the center of Ramadi city in the Anbar province as part of a campaign carried out against the Daesh terrorist group with an aerial support from the US-led international coalition.

Brigadier General Abdul Karim Mohammad at Al Anbar Operations Command told Petra's reporter in Baghdad, that the clear retreat of members of the terrorist group, the comprehensive siege and enthusiasm shown by Iraqi soldiers and members of Al Anbar tribes, contributed to liberating many areas.

He added that the terrorist group will be pushed out of the government complex in central Ramdai which is about 110 kilometers west of Baghdad.

"Most senior Daesh leaders fled due to the US airstrikes and the attacks of the Iraqi army", he said, adding that dozens of terrorist were also killed in recent battles.

Brigadier General Mohammad said that victory will be achieved in Ramadi soon and that terrorist will be pushed out of city.
