EU officials postpone visit to Turkey

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) European Commission First Vice-President Frans Timmermans and EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy & Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn who intended to travel to Turkey today have postponed their visit.
In view of the tragic events that took place in Ankara yesterday, this visit on request of the Turkish authorities has now been postponed to respect the nation's three days of mourning, said an European Commission statement.
The EU's executive body said it hoped to be able to reschedule the visit for Wednesday 14 October.
The two EU officials were expected to discuss with Turkish authorities a draft Action Plan on support of refugees and migration management.
