Iran signs critical shipbuilding deal with Germany

(MENAFN) A memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation was signed between the Iran Shipbuilding, German Nordic Shipbuilding Company and Offshore Industries Complex Company (ISOICO).

The core reason behind this critical deal is transferring know-how in the field of software, construction of oil drilling rigs, ships and equipment as well as creating new markets and using each other capacities.

Iran plans to increase its container fleet to spread forwarding coverage beyond all borders as the nation sees Western sanctions being lifted as early as January, a senior official announced.

Iran's shipping was among the first divisions hit by US-led sanctions barring liners from calling at US and European ports. The regime is to be dismantled soon, allowing Iran to put forward a shopping list for giant vessels.
