Dubai textile trade reaches USD2.04b in H1

(MENAFN) Dubai textile trade in the January-June period of 2015 reached USD2.04 billion, with USD1.3 billion in imports, USD138.26 million in exports and USD598.8 million in re-exports, director of Dubai customs said.

The textile industry is currently making headlines as the second edition of the two-day International Textile Fair (ITF) Dubai kicks off at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Much of the importance the ITF gains is credited to Dubai's global status as a prominent hub for textile and apparel trade in the Middle East Africa and nearby markets.

"Dubai Customs strives to enhance ties with textile traders. To that end the International Textile Fair - Dubai is the place to be as it attracts 200 exhibitors," the director of client management at Dubai Customs said.
