UAE- Tunisian President receives SG of Arab Reading Challenge

TUNIS 10th October 2015 (WAM)Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi received today Najla Al Shamsi Secretary-General of the Arab Reading Challenge launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to encourage students in the Arab world to read with more than a million students committing to read 50 million extracurricular books during every academic year.

Al Shamsi stated after the meeting that she sensed an enthusiastic response and acceptance from the Tunisian president for the largest Arab initiative to encourage reading in various schools throughout the region. She wished success to Tunisian students who will participate in the Arab Reading Challenge competitions.

Al Shamsi also met with the Tunisian Minister of Education Neji Jelloul who welcomed the implementation of the project in Tunisia and noted that his ministry is ready to co-operate and co-ordinate with the project and harness all its capabilities to make Tunisia's contribution positive and outstanding.
