UAE embassy participates in annual diplomatic bazaar in Jordan

AMMAN 10th October 2015 (WAM)The UAE embassy in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has participated in the annual Diplomatic Bazaar organised under the patronage of Princess Basma bint Talal.
More than 50 Arab and foreign diplomatic representations and cultural attaches accredited to the Kingdom took part in the Bazaar. They were selling their national souvenirs and traditional foods of their countries to rise fund for a local charity.
Ahmed Al Tunaiji Acting Charge d'Affaires at the UAE embassy oversaw the UAE participation through a pavilion that featured a variety of impressive products and handicrafts reflecting Emirati culture and heritage. Traditional Emirati food costumes and Arab spices were also showcased in a special corner which was well received by visitors.
During a visit to the UAE pavilion Princess Basma bint Talal applauded the UAE's active and regular participation in the annual diplomatic charity gathering an indication of the close ties between the countries' leadership government and people.
The UAE pavilion officials presented a souvenir to Princess Basma.
Thousands of people attend the bazaar each year to enjoy the colourful display of people from different nations taste foreign cuisines and acquire items from around the world.
During the one-day annual fundraising bazaar participating countries showcased and sold their traditional cuisine products and handicrafts in support of the Mabarrat Um Al Hussein Charity a secure and healthy home for disadvantaged orphaned boys that was established in 1958 by the late Queen Zein Al Sharaf Princess Basma's mother.
Chaired by Princess Basma the Mabarrat provides basic support including a safe environment where boys can benefit from a combination of academic and extra-curricular activities and healthcare services.
The Mabarrat's aim is maintaining a model communitybased family centre. This support is helping families to learn to deal with complex challenges so that they can cope on their own and so wherever possible families can stay together.
