Yemeni Minister of Human Rights U.S. Ambassador discuss developments

SANAA Yemen 9th October 2015 (WAM) --- Yemeni Minister of Human Rights Ezzeldin Al-Asbahi and U.S. Ambassador to Yemen Matthew H. Tueller met in Riyadh Saudi Arabia to discuss developments in Yemen and ways of promoting bilateral relations between their two countries Yemen News Agency reported.

During the meeting the two parties discussed the humanitarian situation in the city of Taez where residents have been suffering an unprecedented tight siege for three months and are facing murderous acts by the rebel Houthi militia and forces loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh using tanks artillery and Katyusha missiles to shell residential areas in the besieged city.

They also discussed required political steps that would lead to a political dialogue based on the Gulf Cooperation Council Initiative the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and Riyadh Conference the draft constitution and Resolution 2216 and other UN Security Council resolutions.

The US ambassador extended condolences of the U.S. Administration on the death of the soldiers of the legitimate Yemeni government and the Arab Coalition in a recent terrorist attack on al-Qasr hotel in Aden.

He condemned the criminal attack the siege laid on the city of Taez and attacks against civilians.

He reiterated his country's support for the Yemeni legitimate government its return to Yemen and the restoration of legitimate national institutions which guarantee of establishing stability and combating all forms of terrorism.
