Israeli forces arrest 20 Palestinians in Hebron


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Israeli occupation forces Thursday dawn launched a wide search and arrest campaign in the west Bank city of Hebron.

The spokesman of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlement, Mohammed Awad, said in a statement that Israeli troops stormed the towns of Beit Ummar, Halhul and Dura and arrested 20 Palestinians.

Clashes erupted and a number of Palestinians were suffocated after inhaling teargas fired at them by the Israeli soldiers, he added.

The Israeli army launches arrest campaigns on a daily basis against dozens of Palestinians in various cities and villages of the West Bank under various pretexts.
