Turkey says 13 PKK militants killed, 14 soldiers wounded


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Turkish military said Wednesday that at least 13 militants from the outlawed Kurdistan's Workers' Party (PKK) were killed and 14 Turkish soldiers wounded in two separate attacks east and southeast of the country.
The soldiers were slightly injured by a booby-trapped car and long-range weapons attack launched by members belonging to PKK on a military post in a village in Van city, eastern Turkey, the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces said in a statement.
The Turkish army managed to kill 13 PKK militants in two different incidents, the statement added.
The violence between Turkey and the PKK militants re-started last July after the collapse of a two-year ceasefire, leaving hundreds dead in the country.
