Russian airstrikes mainly target Syria's moderate opposition - Turkish PM

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said the Russian air attacks in Syria targeted the moderate opposition groups.
Out of a total 57 Russian airstrikes targeted the moderate opposition and only two were against the radical Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), Davutoglu said in statements to the press in Istanbul on Wednesday night.
He made the comments during his visit to the premises of his Justice and Development Party (AKP).
"Unfortunately, 90 percent of the Russian operations target the moderate operations in favor of the (Syrian President Bashar) Al-Assad's regime; Russia only makes a cosmetic intervention against ISIL," he affirmed.
Davutoglu called for concerted action against ISIL, reaffirming his country's readiness to work with Russia and Iran - the staunch allies of Al-Assad, for finding a political settlement to the Syrian conflict.
