Qatar- 1750 orphans in 33 countries enjoyed Eid thanks to QC''s Rofaqa initiative

DOHA: In 33 countries 1750 orphans enjoyed Eid Al Adha and became more hopeful for a better future thanks to Rofaqa initiative one of Qatar Charity’s (QC) initiatives.

Countries suffering exceptional circumstances were focused on such as Palestine Syria and Yemen.

Beneficiaries also included orphans from India Jordan the Philippines Bangladesh Lebanon Iraq Pakistan Sri Lanka Nepal Indonesia the Comoros Kyrgyzstan Ethiopia Nigeria Mauritania Kenya Morocco Chad Mali Benin Burkina Faso Senegal Ghana Togo Niger Bosnia Albania Kosovo Sudan and Tunisia.

‘Eid Clothing’ campaign covered the orphans’ needs including shoes and presents (based on their age and gender): Shirts and pants for boys and dresses and shoes for girls.

More than 550 orphans benefited from the project.

Youssif bin Ahmed Al Kuwari CEO QC said “We made sure to prioritise orphans and pay extra attention to them. QC does its best to provide them with care they need. Plus we all know that the reward our religion promises to those who sponsor orphans is great.”

Through ‘Rofaqa’ QC inaugurated the campaign for the benefit of its sponsored orphans.

The number of sponsored orphans from December 31 2013 until today has reached 39057 from 35 countries the world over.

QC also implemented ‘Your Sacrifice their Eid’ campaign and provided 28100 sacrificial animals (bulls and sheep) in 54 countries in Asia Africa and Europe at a cost of QR13.56m. As for the Hajj season QC implemented projects including Substitute Haj; Feeding Pilgrims; and Grouping Pilgrims.

Thanks to QC 1500 pilgrims performed substitute Haj at a cost of QR5.7m. It also grouped 16 pilgrims at a cost of QR152000 and provided 25000 meals. QC sponsors around 80000 orphans from 35 countries offering them comprehensive care including education health shelter and other basics.
