Major Omani firms set to log net earnings drop in 9M


(MENAFN) Major Omani firms are predicted to post a drop in their net earnings, however, revenues will grow slightly for the first three quarter of this year compared to a year earlier.

Net earnings of Omani firms, including investment holding firms, are expected at USD1.26 billion for the first nine months of the year, marking a decrease of 4.5 percent on an annual basis.

However, revenues of the these companies are seen to edge up by 0.8 percent to reach USD7.11 billion during the period, the Gulf Baader Capital Markets said in a research note released.

In the third quarter alone, these firms' net earnings are expected to drop 7.8 percent to USD412 million, with revenue are seen to stand at USD2.35 billion, a decline of 1.1 percent annually.
