India- MSME Ministry comes out with short film to promote Udyog Aadhaar

(MENAFN- KNN India) In a bid to create awareness about the single page Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM), the MSME Ministry has come out with a short film on UAM.

The film begins with the audio of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's radio address on 'Mann ki Baat' programme in which he had mentioned about simplification of the registration process for MSMEs.

According to the official data, there are around 361.76 lakh MSMEs in India, but only 15.60 lakh units are registered. Around 98 per cent of the units are still unregistered because of which they are not able to avail the government schemes.

The lengthy registration process is the main reason behind the units not registering themselves, the film said.

The Ministry has launched UAM to promote ease of doing business and encourage the units to register themselves.
