Kuwait, US navies hold drill


(MENAFN- Arab Times) Kuwait naval force and US coast guards conducted a security drill on how to inspect and intercept ships, professionally and efficiently. Kuwaiti Army's Directorate of Moral Guidance and Public Relations said, on Tuesday, in a press release that the drill comes as part of a joint security cooperation between Kuwait and the US that aims at raising skills and exchanging expertise. Meanwhile, Bahrain Coast Guard organized on Monday a tactical exercise, codenamed "Gulf of Peace 5/2015," in cooperation with Kuwait Coast Guard and the Saudi Border Guards.

Chief of the Bahraini Public Security Maj Gen Tariq Al Hassan and GCC delegations and field commanders attended the opening ceremony of the drills, according to a statement by the Bahraini Ministry of Interior. He was briefed on the goals and phrases of the exercise in addition to its importance in enhancing training capability of the joint forces, BNA news agency said, citing the statement. He said that hosting this tactical exercise in Bahrain is an added-value to the Bahraini Coast Guard and joint GCC security cooperation and coordination in achieving highest maritime security level. The public security chief hailed the role of such exercises in gaining more field experiences and operation planning capability.
