Qatar- Asean fashion designers to debut in eighth Heya expo


(MENAFN- The Peninsula)A preview of latest collections by Asean fashion designers to feature at the eighth Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition next month.

DOHA: Fashion designers from Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) will debut in the eighth edition of Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition next month organisers have announced.

This year’s Heya will feature designers from the Asean Designer Project (ADP) a programme curated by Sheikhahub for the Asean Entrepreneur Summit (1AES).

The announcement follows a Heya road show through Malaysia and Indonesia organised in cooperation with Sheikhahub where Heya organisers met local fashion designers and media.

‘We are most enthusiastic to be part of Heya this year and showcase talented designers from Asean countries.

“We will feature exciting works of young designers such as celebrity designer Dian Pelangi (Indonesia); Vinn Patararin (Thailand); LullySelb (Singapore); and Danzdesign and Shairose from Malaysia.

“This will be a start of collaboration not just in fashion but also in cultural exchange and tourism’ said Datin Norzihan Latt Founder Sheikhahub.

In Kuala Lumpur Heya organisers hosted an event attended by the Crown Prince and Crown Princess of Perlis who have long supported the development of the Islamic fashion industry and fashion entrepreneurship in Malaysia.

Other guests included wives of the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia Morocco Kuwait Palestine Yemen Sudan and Oman.

Guests and media previewed latest collections by Patararin DanzDesign and LullySelb.

In Jakarta Heya organisers and NooR Indonesia’s leading Muslim fashion and lifestyle magazine hosted a forum attended by local media outlets including CNN Indonesia as well as 30 Indonesian fashion designers and fashion bloggers who discussed the importance of events such as Heya in creating more platforms for Muslim fashion.

Organised by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) and managed by Design Creationz the expo will showcase the best of Fall 2015 collection of Islamic and Arabian fashion at 347 stands covering over a 10000sqm area.

The expo also will feature fashion shows discussion forums and fashion workshops.

The exhibition will be held at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from November 12 to 18.
