Emirates Transport to purchase 722 new buses worth AED 180mn to meet growing demand for school transport services

DUBAI 6th October 2015 (WAM)Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi Minister of Education and Chairman of Emirates Transport has approved the purchase of 722 new buses to meet the growing demand for school transport in both public and private schools for the academic year 2015-2016.

In this context Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman General Manager of Emirate Transport said the new buses would cost AED180 million emphasising Emirates Transport's commitment to ensure the highest standards of safety security and convenience of students. In terms of seat capacity he added 479 of the buses will be of 30 seats and 243 will be of 60 seats.

Emirates Transport buses are daily carrying 230000 students attending 724 government and private schools across the UAE. The company employs 5000 drivers and 5500 transport and safety supervisors.
