Defence Minister reviews Turkey Malaysia relations

(MENAFN- The Peninsula)Doha: Minister of State for Defence Affairs and Cabinet Member H E Maj. Gen. Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah met Turkey’s Minister of National Defence Vecdi Gonul and his delegation yesterday. Maj. Gen. Al Attiyah also held a separate meeting with Malaysian Chief of Defence Force General Tan Sri Dato Sri Dr Haji Zulkifeli bin Mohammed Zin and his delegation. The meetings reviewed ways of enhancing relations between Qatar and their countries.

SEC begins National Day preparations

DOHA: The Supreme Education Council (SEC) has issued a circular to licence holders and Independent school directors for preparations to mark National Day.

Authorities have allocated a stall in Darb Al Saai for private and Independent school students for participation. Activities will include educational cultural and entertainment stories for children and theatre to highlight values such as honesty and sincerity.

The circular asks Independent schools keen to participate to select activities and send the list to the National Day Technical Committee. If the activity is approved the panel will visit the school to finalise its participation.

Al Marri re-elected NHRC Chairman

Doha: The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) has re-elected Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri as Chairman for another term with Dr Youssef Mohamed Obaidan as Vice-Chairman during the first meeting of its fourth session attended by representatives of the civil society Ministry of Interior Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
