Jordan- Awqaf minister highlights strong ties between Jordan and Norway

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Hayel Daoud highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and Norway.

At a meeting with representative of the Norwegian government to the Palestinian National Authority Hans Jacob, and the Norwegian Ambassador to Jordan Cecil Priya, the minister said that failure to solve the Palestinian issue, and the continued Israeli violations against the Al Aqsa, will lead to further escalation, crises and extremism in the region.

"According to agreements signed with the Israeli government, Jordan is the custodian of the holy sites in Jerusalem and the Israeli positions clearly violate peace agreements signed between the two countries," Daoud added.

The minister said that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is exerting political, diplomatic and legal efforts, to put an end to the continued Israeli aggressions against the Al Aqsa Mosque.

Daoud also thanked Norway for its supportive stance to the Palestinian issue.
