Iran to pump 6m cubic meters of gas to Armenia

(MENAFN) Iran is ready to increase natural gas exports to neighboring Armenia as the sanctions enters its final stages, delivering more than six million cubic meters of natural gas per day.

This is a huge upturn when compared to the current one million cubic meters of gas, let alone that the Caucasian state is currently arranging to construct a new 400-kilovolt power transmission line.

Based on the settlement, Iran's natural gas is going to be used by Armenian power plants to produce electricity and in return, Armenia exports electricity back to Iran.

"Due to the lack of necessary infrastructure in Armenia, the country is currently unable to take full advantage of the pipeline's capacity," said a Project Manager and designer close to the deal.
