Some 45 killed, 84 injured in suicide blasts throughout Iraq


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Around 45 people were killed and 84 others injured in a number of suicide explosions that took place Monday in different areas and districts in southern, eastern and central Iraq.
In Basra, 10 people were killed and 25 others injured in a car bomb explosion in Al-Zubair district of the governorate southern Iraq, Taleb Al-Hassouna, head of Al-Zubair's administrative unit, told KUNA.
The explosion took place this afternoon near a popular restaurant inside the main market of Al-Zubair district, Al-Hassouna said, adding that the blast also caused property damages to 20 stores, in addition to a number of cars that were parked near the place, including a police car.
In Diyala, 31 people were killed and 49 others injured in a car bomb explosion near a state central bank in Al-Khales town in the governorate eastern Iraq, an Iraqi police source said, adding that the blast caused damage to a number of nearby stores and buildings.
In Baghdad, another car bomb explosion occurred in Al-Hussainiya area, killing four people and wounding 10 others, the source added.
