Qatar stock index drops 139.45 points market cap down by over QR7.2bn

DOHA: Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) index dropped 139.45 points or 1.21 percent on Thursday when it closed at 11418.68 points.

The market cap decreased by over QR7.2bn to QR602.39bn from QR 609.63bn registered Wednesday.

The daily turnover increased to QR1.09bn with a volume of 767632 shares from 4288 transactions compared with QR204.48m with a volume of 5409461 shares from 3589 transactions on Wednesday.

Indices of five sectors ended in the red and two in the green.

Banks and Financial Services dropped the most down 1.42 percent to 3097.41 points. Telecoms gained 0.14 percent while consumer goods edged up 0.06 percent.

From the 43 companies listed on QSE 14 gained 24 dropped and five remained unchanged.
