Jordan- Interior minister, Saudi envoy discuss ties

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Interior Minister, Salamah Hammad, said Sunday that the "historic" ties between Jordan and Saudi Arabia will remain a key guarantor to safeguard the two countries' interests in "all times and circumstances".

During a meeting with Saudi ambassador, Sami al-Saleh, the minister said relations between the two kingdoms are characterized by common understanding of various challenges and issues of mutual interest.

The conditions in the region, he said, required solidarity and close coordination when common Arab action is non-existent in order to preserve regional stability and overcome obstacles that might arise.

Hammad also commended the Saudi support for Jordan at the various regional and international forums.

The envoy said Riyadh is keen on developing ties with Jordan, indicating that both countries see eye to eye on various regional issues.
