Dubai labourers enjoy a night at the movies

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A group of labourers in the UAE were all smiles as they embarked on one of the greatest pastimes that many of us take for granted - going to the movies. Star Cinema at Lamcy Plaza was the site for entertainment last weekend when event company Plan b decided to take over 500 labourers from different work camps in Dubai to the movie premiere of Singh is Bliing alongside one of the stars of the movie, Amy Jackson.

The event also marked Plan b's quest to increase the group's support in the local community, launching their very first charity campaign "b with the heart".

Harmeek Singh, founder and owner of Plan b, commented on the event.

"With our new focus on charity we want to find ways to give back to the community that will have a positive effect on social change in the UAE. With this particular initiative we wanted to thank the hardworking UAE labour force for their commitment," he said.

The whole day was dedicated to labourers who were provided snacks and treats during the movie and a gift to take home.

"We are very thankful to be here," said a participating labourer who attended the event.

"I have never been to the movies in my life and I was so excited the whole week and couldn't wait to see the film. I am very happy and I will never forget this act of kindness."
