Dozens of Palestinians injured in violent confrontations with Israeli troops


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The Israeli occupation forces used brutal force, including live ammunition and tear gas, against the Palestinian protesters in various parts of the West Bank late Saturday.
Hundreds of Jewish settlers, backed by Israeli forces, engaged with Palestinian protesters at the entrance of Ramallah and threw stones at them.
The Israeli forces fired tear gas at the Palestinians which resulted in several suffocations among the Palestinian defenders.
The settlers attacked a Palestinian car in Huwwarah village, near Nablus, with stones which injured a woman and her daughter, medical sources told KUNA reporter here. Dozens of Palestinians were injured, some in critical conditions due to bullet injuries in the ongoing clashes, particularly in Baytin village, north Ramallah.
In Asira village, north Nablus, three youths were injured and some others arrested by the Israeli forces, while similar confrontations were reported near a military checkpoint in Beit Ayel village, to the north of the West Bank.
Similar confrontations between the Jewish settlers and the Palestinian defenders took place at a neighborhood near Jalazun camp, north Ramallah. The bloody clashes took place against the backdrop of the stabbing to death of two settlers in the Old City of Jerusalem earlier in this evening.
