Banque Misr achieves new milestone in electronic payments


(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Banque Misr has recently achieved a new milestone in electronic payments by creating an integrated system to mechanise all governmental payments, such as the state's employee salaries or those related to governmental dues, like taxes and customs.

Advanced mechanisms and technologies in the field of electronic payments were used the bank's 500+ branches within the country.

Banque Misr allows companies to pay their due payments to the government from their workplaces via the internet, using the Corporate Payment Service technology. College expenses can also be electronically paid through the bank through the BM Card for youth. They can also be paid at the bank's branches or through POS selling machines provided to universities subscribed to the system.

Banque Misr has issued about 3.8m credit cards, spot discount cards, prepaid cards, and salary cards. Moreover, the bank has a large network of ATMs (1,400 machines) distributed all over the country.

Banque Misr added many new services to its ATMs, in addition to their basic services of cash withdrawal and deposit. These services include monetary transfers between individuals without payment cards, and the payment of bills, donations, and various subscription fees, in cooperation with the Fawry company.

Banque Misr maintained its number one ranking for the 11th year in a row in the field of mechanising government workers' salaries.

The bank is a highly rated bank in the electronic payment of taxes. It obtained the award of the best advanced bank in the system of electronic taxes collection for 2014 from the Taxes Authority.

The bank also maintained first place in respect to the total number of operations conducted through cards issued by Egyptian banks for the ATM network working through the 123 system. Moreover, it acquired first place in the number of merchants contracted to collect the operations executed through the electronic payment cards, with 26% of the Egyptian market.
