Saudi Ambassador to UN: GCC Relief and Aid to Yemeni People Won39t Stop for Years


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency)New York Dhu-AlHijjah 18 1436 Oct 2 2015 SPA -- The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations in New York Ambassador Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Mouallimi has stressed that the relief and assistance being provided by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States to the Yemeni people will continue for dozens of years in the future pointing to ideas for the establishment of broad development projects in Yemen.
In a press conference held on yesterday evening following the conclusion of the meeting of the GCC's Foreign Ministers with the heads of humanitarian and relief organizations he said that the meeting saw a consensus on all the points and basic principles of humanitarian and relief work in Yemen and that should be available for the proper implementation of their duties.
He explained that the objective of the meeting is to consult discuss and brief on ideas that may be provided by the humanitarian organizations and to review the humanitarian situation in Yemen and the assistance provided so far.
Ambassador Al-Mouallimi also said that the aid value provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia alone reached more than $ 500 million the United Arab Emirates and Qatar have also donated large sums of money along with other countries.
