China's overseas debt hits USD1.7tr in June


(MENAFN) China's offshore debt is at nearly USD1.7 trillion by the end of June, marginally up by USD6.9 billion from the end of March, according to the latest released reports.

Around 70 percent of the overall overseas debt came from brief borrowing, as external debt with a period of one year or less totaled to USD1.17 trillion, while long-term debt came in at USD510 billion.

The presented figure does not consist of the outstanding external debt of the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions or that of Taiwan, according to the State Administration of Foreign Exchange.
