Albanian street named after Kuwait


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Ilir Meta, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Albania Najeeb Al-Bader and Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj on Wednesday inaugurated a street named after (Kuwait) in the new diplomatic area.
Naming the street after the State of Kuwait came in recognition of its role in the development of Albania, especially in the construction of schools, medical clinics, educational and cultural centers, Speaker of the Albanian Parliament said in a statement after the inauguration.
The Albanian speaker expressed thanks and appreciation to Kuwait Embassy's efforts in the development of bilateral relations and the bonds of friendship between the two countries.
For his part, the mayor of Tirana stressed the significant role played by Kuwait in the strategic projects that meet the special needs of municipality of Tirana, praising the role of the embassy in this regard.
Ambassador Al-Bader also praised the sincere efforts made by Meta in strengthening the bonds of friendship between the two countries in the political, parliamentary, economic and cultural fields.
He also expressed his pleasure to be awarded the key of Tirana city as the first ambassador to be decorated with this award.
Naming the street after the state of Kuwait confirms the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries in all fields and reflects the desire of both sides to take the prospects for cooperation to higher levels, he said.
Al-Bader expressed thanks to the Albanian Development Fund for making every efforts to make this project a success.
