Jordan- FM attends ministerial meeting on Syria


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs Nasser Judeh Monday joined counterparts from six world nations at a meeting in New York to discuss prospects for finding a political solution to the Syrian conflict.

The meeting, called for by US Secretary of State John Kerry, was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly and brought together the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Britain, Germany in addition to the United States and Jordan.

In remarks during the meeting, Judeh expressed hope that the Syrian crisis will end soon to enable the Syrian refugees to return to their country, stressing that a political solution is the proper approach to ending the humanitarian crisis of the Syrian people.

He reiterated Jordan's support of a solution inclusive of all Syrians and based on the Geneva 1 resolutions, that would safeguard Syria's security and territorial integrity.
