Israeli warplanes strike Gaza Strip

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Israeli occupation jetfighters, early Wednesday carried out a number of aerial attacks against multiple areas in the Gaza Strip in another act of aggression against the Palestinian coastal territory.

Palestinian sources said that Israeli warplanes shelled at least two missiles against agricultural land near a site in Askalan of the Izz-Aldin al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas movement in the northern part of the strip.

Israeli warplanes also fired a number of missiles against Abu-Jarrad and Bader military sites in Az-zaytounah neighborhood east of the besieged enclave. Jetfighters also targeted As-sudania town near Gaza Naval Police west of the enclave, causing great damage in the area.

The Israeli army said the airstrikes came after its Iron Dome defense system intercepted a rocket above Ashdod city fired from Gaza.
