Erdogan: Turkey killed 30 Kurdish fighters in cross border operation


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Istanbul Dhu-AlHijjah 15 1436 September 29 2015 SPA -- The Turkish army has killed 30 Kurdish fighters in an operation outside Turkey's borders the Anadolu news agency on Tuesday quoted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as saying.
Erdogan did not mention in which country the overnight attack against the Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) took place.
The army has been carrying out airstrikes against the PKK in northern Iraq since the end of July. The militants have been carrying out almost daily attacks against Turkish security targets. The violence ended a fragile ceasefire that had held since 2013.
Turkey has also carried out airstrikes against Islamic State militants in Syria.
