Russia has not ruled out joining air strikes against Daesh

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Russian President, Vladimir Putin, late Monday said his country has not ruled out joining air strikes against Daesh terrorist group in Iraq and Syria, but would not send ground troops into combat.

After his first meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama in nearly a year, the Kremlin chief told reporters that any Russian action in Syria will be in accordance with international law.

Asked if Russian aircraft could join the strikes against Daesh, Putin said, "We are thinking about it, and we don't exclude anything." "There is no other solution to the Syrian crisis than strengthening the effective government structures and rendering them help in fighting terrorism," Putin said.
