AJMAN 29th September 2015 (WAM) -- The government of Ajman has said that a large number of voters turned out to cast their ballots at the main polling station in the emirate on day one of the early three-day Federal National Council elections yesterday.

An official from the polling station located at the Social Services Building at the Ministry of Social Affairs in Al Jurf said that the centre saw a great turnout of male and female voters particularly during the first hours of opening saying that the large turnout indicates the keenness of voters to exercise their voting rights and select the candidates who they feel represent them best.

The official also stressed that the voting centre in Ajman will facilitate services to achieve a successful completion of the electoral process in implementation of the empowerment programme initiated by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
