Media to be allowed into polling centres

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times)The National Election Committee (NEC) has received complaints from media saying their representatives have been denied access into the polling centres on the first day of early voting on Monday.

The NEC hence would like to make it clear that the media passes (badges) issued and distributed to all media outlets have been mainly designed to enable representatives of media to get access to the polling centres and its media centres just on the main day of election slated for October 3.

However the NEC will be modifying the validity of entry to holders of media passes to include all days of early voting as well as the primary day of election.

The NEC will also work on facilitating the entry of journalists into the poling centres in cooperation with the managements of election centres as of today.
