KSA- 18 Pakistanis killed in Hajj stampede


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) The number of Pakistani pilgrims killed during the recent Hajj stampede at Mina in Saudi Arabia has risen to 18 while 20 others got injuries, Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Yousuf said on Sunday.
The minister in a statement said, "After visiting hospitals, I can confirm 18 Pakistanis were among those killed during a stampede at Mina." Of the 20 Pakistani pilgrims who were injured during the tragedy, 12 have been discharged from hospitals, while the remaining eight are receiving medical aid in Mina, he added, noting that measures are being taken to locate missing Pakistani pilgrims.
A statement issued by Pakistan Foreign Office said that the Pakistani embassy is facilitating identification of the deceased at the mortuary in Makkah along with efforts being made to locate the missing pilgrims.
At least 769 pilgrims were killed while 934 others were injured on Thursday in a stampede at Mina where over two million people performed Hajj.
