Kuwait Croatian FMs discuss Syrian refugee crisis
NEW YORK 25th September 2015 (WAM) -- Croatian Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic said she discussed with First Deputy Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah a possible meeting between GCC and EU regarding the Syrian refugee crisis.
She noted that European and GCC countries were facing common challenges like those resulting from the Syrian refugee crisis.
"We in many ways become neighbors in the sense of dealing with Syria and Iraq issues" she said in statements to KUNA after a meeting with Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled on sidelines of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
Pusic said Kuwait and Croatia could jointly explore solutions to "crises spots in the immediate neighborhood."
She said the Syrian crisis which broke out in March 2011 could only be solved politically.
The Syrian conflict killed more than 250000 people injured many more others destroyed public and private properties as well as displacing over 12 million people.
Pusic meanwhile said she and Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled discussed energy cooperation and finalizing the procedures for the establishment of embassies in Kuwait and Zagreb.
