China plans to consume 2 percent of energy in 2015

(MENAFN) China's electricity consumption, a key factor for showing economic activity, will face the slowest growth pace in 17 years, which is forecasted to be at 2 percent this year from last year's 3.8 percent.

An ongoing increase in demand in the past years is a main player behind this result, not to mention the country's economic slowdown, which is also affecting other key countries, let alone the whole world.

The nation has set a clear goal to cut energy use by 16 percent by the end of this year from the 2011's 11.9 percent level, which was 0.793 tons of ordinary coal per USD1,570 of GDP.
