Kuwait- New Blood Transfusion Center soon in Adan Hospital


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor's Undersecretary and Chairman of the National Commission on cooperative projects Dr. Mutar Al-Mutairi singed here on Tuesday a contract for the establishment and maintenance of Blood Transfusion Center in Adan Hospital estimated at nearly KD seven million (USD 23.1mln) over a period of 18 months.

Al-Mutairi said in a press statement today that the four-storey project will be built on an area of 4,000 square meters and will include considerably spacious blood cooling refrigerators, adding that the project has been approved by the Ministry of Health.

A total of eight companies competed for the project through a tender that was provided by the Ministry which was awarded to Khalid Ali Al-Kharafi & Brothers Company, which offered the lowest bid.

The general coordinator of the project, Nouriya Al-Sadani and representatives from Al Jazera Consultants (JC) attended the event.

This project is part of the Commission's vital contribution in serving the society, as it always supports projects that offer the best services to people in various parts of the country.

The committee is also financing the establishment of another Center for Blood Transfusion in Al-Jahra Health area, while it is currently working on a number of other future projects, he affirmed.
