Earthquake measuring 5.6 hits Gulf of Aden

ABU DHABI 22nd September 2015 (WAM) -- A statement from the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology NCMS today announced that an earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale jolted the Gulf of Aden at 8:03 a.m. local time.

The Gulf of Aden is located in the Indian Ocean between Yemen on the south coast of the Arabian Peninsula and Somalia in Africa. In the northwest it connects with the Red Sea through the narrow Bab el Mandeb strait.
