Turkey- Turkish president receives Arab Israeli lawmakers


(MENAFN- The Journal Of Turkish Weekly) A delegation of Arab-Israeli lawmakers arrived in Istanbul on Monday to brief President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on tensions around the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound a presidential source said.

Ahmad Tibi leader of the Arab Movement for Change and four other members of the Israeli Knesset met Erdogan at the presidential complex in Tarabya.

The president reiterated his condemnation of Israel’s “violation” and urging the international community to take action according to the source.

The delegation flew to Turkey after meeting Jordanian King Abdullah II. They briefed both leaders on tensions at the east Jerusalem complex which is revered by both Muslims and Jews.Last week Israeli forces and Palestinian youths were involved in clashes at the site that left dozens injured.
