Khalifa Foundation bears deportation expenses of 305 inmates

ABU DHABI 22nd September 2015 (WAM) -- The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has pledged to cover the deportation costs of 305 inmates who have served their terms at the UAE's correctional and punitive establishments but are unable to pay for the return tickets to their countries.

The move follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of Khalifa Foundation.

The move is being coordinated with the Ministry of Interior to help the inmates who were sentenced to deportation upon serving their terms to celebrate Eid al-Adha with their families in their home countries.

For their part the beneficiaries expressed their thanks and appreciation to the foundation for this kind gesture which is regularly implemented by the Khalifa Foundation.
