(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Tajikistan Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda on Monday stressed the importance of Qatari investment in enhancing his country's economy.
Speaking to representatives of some of Qatar's major companies, Rasulzoda said Qatari Diar is currently setting up a massive high-end real estate project called Diar Dushabne.
Qatar is also building Tajikistan's biggest mosque.
The prime minister said these two projects were a perfect example of the strong bilateral co-operation the two countries have.
He said his meeting with HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani focused on bilateral relations especially in the economy and trade fields.
The prime minister added that his country has ample investment opportunities in fields like energy, water resources, tourism, agriculture and mining. He added that Qatar would be one of the top investing partners Tajikistan is looking to attract.
On Sunday, Rasulzoda and his accompanying delegation visited the Museum of Islamic Art (MIA).
The prime minister toured various sections of the museum where he was briefed about the contents including Islamic artefacts, relics, books, manuscripts and coins made of silver, copper and bronze as well as articles of glass, ivory, tissue, wood and precious stones which have been collected from three continents dating back to 14 centuries.
Rasulzoda left yesterday.
He was seen off by HE the Minister of Administrative Development Dr Issa Saad al-Jafali al-Nuaimi, Qatar's Ambassador to Tajikstan Ali Mubark Said al-Mohannadi and Tajikistan's Ambassador to Qatar Qodiri Ardasher.
