US Apple to launch first solar power project in China


(MENAFN) Apple, the U.S tech giant, declared that an innovative stage in the production of the latest iPhone models might help all its suppliers, especially in China, to cut carbon emissions and increase productivity.

As opposed to the previous models, Apple has reduced the carbon emissions of the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus by 16 percent and 14 percent, respectively, which marks a huge step towards efficiency.

Back to China, the firm is building a 40-megawatt solar power project in the Asian nation; adding 80 million kilowatt hours of clean energy to the grid annually, marking the first of its kind Apple has launched outside the US.

Apple has worked hard toward its environmental and climate obligations in recent years, proven by the fact that all its facilities in the United States using 100 percent renewable energy, while globally it is 87 percent.
