Oman shows great interest in Ethiopia as trade partner


(MENAFN) Oman is showing great interest in the African country, Ethiopia, considering extending its non-oil exports; Oman already had it on its top list of importers, delivering goods worth USD40 million in 2014.

The Sultanate has conducted a market study in Ethiopia to assess the export potential of 59 Omani products, and it's worth mentioning that the main export items from Oman to Ethiopia include semi-finished goods, iron and polymers.

The Ethiopian market's potential is huge as the nation's overall exports are USD5.7 billion, while its imports are USD22 billion, and its main business partners are China, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

Moreover, The Ethiopian economy is expanding at a rapid pace, with its net domestic product estimated at USD54 billion, and its per capita income projected to be USD568 in the previous year.
