UAE declares 3 days of mourning over passing of Sheikh Rashid


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The United Arab Emirates Saturday declared a three-day mourning period over the passing away of Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Rashid died of a heart attack today at the age of 34.

During the mourning period, announced by UAE president Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahayan, flags will fly at half mast at public departments and institutions across the UAE. Sheikh Khalifa along with the rulers of the seven emirates in the union and the UAE Federal National Council expressed their deep condolences to Sheikh Mohammed.

The body of Sheikh Rashid will be laid to rest today after prayers at a Dubai mosque.
