S. Korea's Samsung Q3 earnings below forecasts

(MENAFN) Driven by a deteriorating profitability from its mobile division, Korean Samsung is set to log a worse-than-expected income in the July-September period.

Based on the recently acquired data, as of Sep-17th, the firm's earnings averaged at USD5.6 billion, which is 6.4 percent down from the forecasted figure a month ago.

The giant tech company registered a near 8 percent fall in gross profits through the April-June period as its smartphone business remained weak on lacking Galaxy S6 sales.

On the other hand, its biggest Chinese rival and contributor to weakness, Huawei, declared that its global smartphone sales surged 39 percent in the first half of this year.
