Key S. Korean firms spend USD52.4b in H1

(MENAFN) A total of 30 top corporations in South Korea have spent USD52.4 billion in investment for research and facilities in the first six months of this year.

In spite of the economic fears at home and abroad, these firms spent USD39.5 billion in facilities and the rest USD12 billion in research and development.

As for what is planned for the whole year, the business groups devoted USD86 billion to facility investment, while setting aside for USD28 billion for research.

"Given that the budget execution rate ranged from 40-45 percent in the past, firms will overcome the China shock and the looming U.S. interest rate hike relatively well," said an official.
